Federal and Clerks Wage Bulletin | ECA Legal

ECA Legal has released updated wage bulletins for both the Electrical, Electronic and Communications Contracting Award 2020, the Clerks – Private Sector Award 2020 and the Electrical Contracting Industry Award R 22of 1978, with new rates effective from the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2025.
Wage Bulletin No. 25 outlines the revised rates and allowances under the Federal Electrical Award, including:
- Updated minimum weekly and hourly rates for electrical workers across Grades 1–10.
- Apprentice wage rates, inclusive of allowances.
- Key provisions around allowances such as tool, licence, industry, travel, and meal allowances.
- Penalty rates, leave entitlements, termination, redundancy, and superannuation (12% from 1 July 2025).
Wage Bulletin No. 18 covers changes under the Federal Clerks Award, with new wage rates from Level 1 to Level 5, and details for junior employees. It also includes:
- Allowances for first aid, laundry, meals, transport and vehicle use.
- Clarification of leave entitlements, overtime, redundancy pay, and long service leave provisions.
Both bulletins apply to constitutional corporation employers only. Members are encouraged to review the updated documents and ensure compliance with the new rates and entitlements.
Wage Bulletin No. 24 details the updated rates under the State Electrical Award, including:
- Updated minimum weekly and hourly rates for electrical workers.
- Junior and mature age apprentice wage rates.
- Key allowances such as tool, licence and special allowance.
This bulletin applies to employers who are sole traders and partnerships.
